The Nissan Altima uses a premium Bose radio system. The Bose offers exceptional quality over many radios on the market today. However, it is limited to the input it gets. In other words, if your area only gets a few radio stations, you may want to get a Sirius satellite radio so that you have hundreds of radio stations to choose from. In order for you to do this, you'll need to know how to add Sirius radio to an Altima Bose radio. This guide will show you how.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sirius radio kit
  1. Step 1

Mount the Sirius radio receiver in your Nissan. You should locate it somewhere where it will not obstruct your view of the road. You can mount it on the windshield near the rear-view mirror, or on the dash using the provided suction cups.

  2. Step 2

Mount the antenna. The antenna is magnetic so you can place it on top of the roof of your Altima, or on the trunk, or anywhere that there is a level, flat, metal surface on your vehicle.

  3. Step 3

Run the antenna cable through the vehicle. Depending on where you mounted the antenna, you may need to run the wires under the rubber molding on your rear window and into the trunk. Run the wire from the trunk into the passenger compartment by pressing the release lever to fold down your Altima's back seat.

  4. Step 4

Plug the antenna wire into the Sirius radio receiver.

  5. Step 5

Plug the receiver's power adapter into the accessory outlet in your Altima. You should notice the receiver light up and show you that there is a signal coming to the radio receiver.

  6. Step 6

Call the number that comes up on the receiver at this point to activate your Sirius radio.
