How to Setup Bluetooth Hotsync on a Treo 700P

The Palm Treo is a cell phone that uses the Palm operating system for mini-computing capabilities. The cell phone is commonly used by business people who need a powerful phone that saves contacts, messages, email and, of course, good reception for voice communications. The Palm Treo also has Bluetooth capabilities, allowing users to sync the phone with their personal computer.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Installed Bluetooth serial port on your computer
  1. Step 1

    Click the "Preferences" button on the Treo phone. From the menu, select "Bluetooth" and then click "Setup Device."

  2. Step 2

    Select "Hotsync Setup" from the window. This opens a configuration window for Bluetooth communication.

  3. Step 3

    Click "Next" on the window explaining Bluetooth. This opens a new window that searches for available Bluetooth machines in the area.

  4. Step 4

    Select you computer. The computer you use needs a virtual serial port setup with Bluetooth capabilities. Click the "Next" button.

  5. Step 5

    Right-click the Bluetooth icon on your desktop machine and select "Setup." This opens a window with a list of virtual Bluetooth ports. Select the port for use with the Treo and select "Ok."

  6. Step 6

    Click the "Hotsync" button on the Treo. The device will hotsync with the computer.
