How to Whistle Loudly

How to Whistle Loudly thumbnail
Use your fingers to produce a loud whistle.

Although whistling loudly comes easy for some people, for most it's a matter of trying different things, like tweaking a two-fingered technique until it hits the whistling level you're hoping for. It might take you several weeks of practice, at five minutes each day, to get to the point that your whistle gets attention.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the tips of your index finger and thumb together as shown in the picture. You also can use your thumb and middle finger, which some people prefer.

    • 2

Stick out your tongue and place the tips of your fingers that are held together against the tip of your tongue. Push your tongue back into your mouth until the first knuckles of your fingers are resting just outside your lips. Some people prefer to put their fingertips slightly beneath their tongue when they push it back in.

    • 3

Blow and you should be able to feel the air rushing between your fingers and your lips, making a whistle sound. The harder you blow, the louder you'll whistle. Practice, adjusting your fingers to slightly different angles until you get the position that works best for you.
