Things You'll Need:
- detangling conditioner
- wide tooth comb
- barrettes
- elastics/rubber bands
- gel
- conditioner
-
Step 1
twists pinned up w/ headband accessoryAfter shampooing your childs hair use a detangling conditioner if you choose to. Towel dry and condition. Braid hair or twist before bed time, so hair won't be bushy.
-
Step 2
afro puff w/ pretty bowI usually apply two french braids on both sides of the head. You can decorate at the end by twisting the ends around and applying pins. Special events call for a pretty bow in the back that matches her wardrobe.
-
Step 3
pretty coilsCoils are very pretty and can have a spin to it. You could have an afro in back or add pigtails. To do coils part hair in triangles or diamonds and gel down sections of hair wrap hair around until you make a coil. Wrap a rubberband or elastic around the hair.
-
Step 4
pretty frizzy spiralsAfter shampooing hair and detangling make sure to towel dry and condition. You could take rubberbands or elastics and section hair making pigtails. Don't braid hair instead just twist two small sections of hair and twist if they come loose apply a small amount of gel to the ends. In the morning you could take hair loose and it should look like spirals. Finger through hair and style how you would like.

on 7/30/2009 I too have naturally curly hair and when it dries sometimes it's a frizzy mess, but I found after living in Dallas that frizzy is an actual style for natural looking hair and people are purchasing hair like mine in wigs and tracked hair. ( who knew) We just weren't taught back in the day that kinky was pretty, I'm proud of you for taking the initiative to teach your children it is ok to be who they are at a young age.
