A cutting board is one of the kitchen's most useful utilities. Just about every household in America has at least one cutting board for use with their daily cooking chores. The only problem with cutting boards is the fact that they are susceptible to bacteria. Follow these steps to learn how to disinfect your cutting board with Clorox.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The first thing you need to do in order to disinfect your cutting board is to make a bleach and water solution. Mix one Tablespoon of bleach to a full gallon of water.

  2. Step 2

Next, you will need to wash your cutting board in hot, soapy water as you normally would. After you have finished washing your cutting board, set it aside, then drain and thoroughly rinse the sink.

  3. Step 3

Then you will need to pour your Clorox and water solution into the sink, and allow your cutting board to soak in the mixture for approximately two minutes.

  4. Step 4

Finally, you will remove your cutting board from the Clorox solution and allow it to air dry. You're Done! Now you can rest assured that your cutting board is free of germs.

*The amount of Clorox bleach in the solution is not sufficient enough to cause harm because of the high dilution factor of the gallon of water. However, the Clorox solution is potent enough to kill of bacteria.
