How to Take the redeye out of your photos with Photoshop

Taking the red eye out of photos using Photoshop cs3.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  • Photoshop
  • Photo with red eye
  1. Step 1

    Select file then open and select which of your pictures needs the red eye removed and zoom in using the zoom tool found on your tools pallet. You want to zoom in pretty close so you can see the outline of the eyes your trying to remove the red eye from.

  2. Step 2

    Select the Elliptical Marquee tool from your tools pallet.

  3. Step 3

    Circle around the part of the eye that needs the red eye removed while holding down the shift key on your key board so you can select both eyes at the same time.

  4. Step 4

    With both eyes selected of which you want the red eye removed go over to your layers pallet and click on the second tab of the three that are available that says channels.
    Click on the green making sure the box is lit up showing that its what you have selected.

  5. Step 5

    Go over to edit which is right next to file where you selected your picture from and click on copy.

  6. Step 6

    Go back over to your channels and click on red.

  7. Step 7

    Back over to edit and click on paste.

  8. Step 8

    Back over to channels and click on blue.

  9. Step 9

    Back over to edit and click on paste once again.

  10. Step 10

    Then click on RGB in your channels and your picture should show back up in full color with the red eye gone..

Tips & Warnings
  • There are many ways to remove red eye with Photoshop as there are many ways to do just about anything in Photoshop. Find the best way that works for you and go with it. Its your art after all. Thanks for reading.
