Many websites require that you enable cookies in order for the website to be properly viewed. Cookies are text files that save information regarding particular websites. They may save information, shopping cart contents, or user preferences. Generally, cookies are harmless, but rogue cookies do exist. So, be careful on which websites you allow cookies to be saved.

  • Internet Explorer
  1. Step 1

    First, open up your Internet Explorer web browser. In particular, this eHow article outlines the procedure for enabling cookies in Internet Explorer 6 and 7.

  2. Step 2

    Now that you have your Internet Explorer open, we will press the "Tools" button on the Internet Explorer tool bar.

    From the tools menu, press "Internet Options" to open up a menu. Within this menu, you can vary the level of protection within the internet.

  4. Step 4

    Within this menu, press the "Default" button. By pressing this button, it will return Internet Explorer to its factory settings. This will enable cookies within Internet Explorer 6 and 7.
