Many people wear jeans. But how many of those people wear jeans that look great? If you're going to wear jeans, those jeans should look great on you. Choosing the right pair of jeans requires finding the right size, cut, style, color and more. There are several steps involved in finding the perfect pair of jeans for your body.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

First, only buy jeans that are made of quality fabric. A pair of jeans may look good when you try them on, but if they're made of cheap fabric, they'll fall apart the minute you wash them. Good quality jeans may cost more than lower quality denim.

  2. Step 2

Choose jeans in a color that looks good with most of your wardrobe and skin tone. Dark color denim fabrics may be better in many cases because they are more versatile and timeless.

  3. Step 3

Be wary of buying very trendy jeans. They may be in style now, but will you still want to wear them in six months? Bell bottoms, ripped jeans and colorful jeans may be fun, but they are certainly not timeless.

  4. Step 4

Consider the size of the jeans. It may be tempting to go a size smaller versus a size larger, but going a size larger will make your jeans fit much better and much more comfortably. Keep in mind, even with cute jeans, a muffin top is never cute.

  5. Step 5

Look at the details of the jeans. Is there too much room in the back of the jeans? Are the back pockets flattering? Do the front pockets look bulky? You do not need the details of the jeans to detract from the attractiveness of the denim.

  6. Step 6

Think about the cut of the jeans. Flared jeans tend to be flattering on many body shapes because they give the bottom of the legs shape, which balances out the upper thighs. However, certain shapes simply do not work on certain body types. For example, skinny jeans tend to only look good on skinny people. Even if you love the style, do not wear it if it is not flattering on your body type.

  7. Step 7

Consider the length of the jeans. Try on the jeans with both flat shoes and heels, if you wear shoes of both styles. Hem the jeans to the length of your choosing, if necessary. Do not put this off, or you risk fraying the bottoms and ruining the jeans.

  8. Step 8

Try on many pairs of jeans before making a purchasing decision. You may think that you love a pair of jeans until you try on another pair and love those jeans even more. Take your time. Purchasing a pair of jeans, especially if you spend a decent amount of money on them, is an important decision.
