Things You'll Need:
- shampoo with balsam
- clarifying shampoo
- natural-ingredient hair spray
- pick/comb
-
Step 1
Remove your weave.
-
Step 2
Spray your hair until it is nice and moist with some type of natural ingredient conditioning hair(braid) spray. I prefer to make my own. Go to my how to make your own natural ingredient hair spray article...coming soon!
My spray makes the hair very easy to pick/comb through. -
Step 3
Gently pick your hair from the ends first working your way to the roots. Do not rush. This can be a time consuming process, but it is well worth it, and with my special spray, time is cut down considerably.
-
Step 4
Wash your hair with a shampoo containing balsam. I like Cream of Nature or Flex. You do not need a heavy conditioner for your natural hair like you did for your formerly relaxed hair. Personally, I don't use a conditioner on my natural hair.
-
Step 5
Dry your hair and spray again with the natural ingredient conditioning hair(braid) spray. This will act as a leave in conditioner and detangler. Gently pick/comb it out, starting with the ends first.
-
Step 6
Let your hair air dry or blow dry it straight with a pick attachment attached to the end of the blow dryer.
-
Step 7
Re-braid hair and weave.
