Yahoo offers many products that make navigating the web easier. Yahoo also offers other products like Yahoo! Mail that help you connect and communicate to your contacts. These accounts are free of charge and you only need a free account with them to access these products. If you decide that you would like to cancel your account they make it painless to delete it permanently. This tutorial will show you how to close your Yahoo account.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Yahoo Account
  • Internet
  1. Step 1

Deleting your Yahoo account is easy but before you start decide if you want to delete your entire account or specific services. Closing your account will delete all the information that is associated to that username. It will also delete the contents from your HotJobs, Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Address Book, Yahoo Briefcase, and My Yahoo.

If you decide to cancel the account then sign in with the Yahoo! ID and password that you wish to delete.

  2. Step 2

Visit the Terminating Your Yahoo! Account page at https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_user

  3. Step 3

Click the link that says, Terminate this Account. In 90 days Yahoo! will delete all the data associated with your account.

Tips & Warnings
  • Personal information for users subscribed to Yahoo! Finance Premium Services will be kept by Yahoo! for at least 3 years after the subscription end
  • You will not be able to reactivate your Yahoo! account once it has been closed, but will be required to sign up for a new account.
