How to Decoupage a Composition Notebook

Tired of plain, boring notebooks? Composition Notebooks come in a variety of colors and sizes. It's faster and easier than you think to personalize your notebook. Decorate a bunch for journals, wedding planner, list making, etc...

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Composition Notebook
• Decorative Scissors
• Paper Trimmer
• Mod Podge
• 1" Foam Brush
• Cardstock
• Decorative Image
• Borders

1. 
    

   Gather up all your crafting supplies in your work area. Cover your table with several layers of newspaper to prevent any glue from getting on the surface.

2. Use a paper trimmer to cut out the image you want to decorate the front cover. If you would like to matte it, glue it to a piece of cardstock a little bigger than the image. After it has dried a bit cut out with decorative edged scissors and glue matted image to front cover of notebook.

3. Glue decorative border down the seam of the notebook where the binding meets the front cover.

4. After letting it dry for a while, coat the entire front of the notebook with mod podge to secure everything in place.

Tips & Warnings

• Stock up on Composition Notebooks during Back to School sales.
• Use images from Page a Day Calendars.
• Make your own paper borders by cutting cardstock into strips with decorative scissors.
• Use a thin layer of mod podge and let dry thoroughly between each step.
• Rinse foam brush thoroughly immediately after using to prevent glue from drying on brush.
