Step 1
(Use your car keys' Panic button.) Probably the only way to help find your car without prior preparation. Walk around pressing your car's Panic button and walk towards the source of the noise.
-
Step 2
(Park close to the building.) The closer you park your car to your destination, the easier it will be to find it once you leave. As a general rule of thumb, always to try park close.
-
Step 3
(Park near a parking sign.) If you park close to a sign, you can easily remember where your car is later. These signs are located on metal poles all over the parking lot. They usually contain a letter and a number (i.e. C3)
-
Step 4
(Park near elevator / staircase.) This applies to parking garages. Since these consist of multiple floors, it would be in your best interest to park near an elevator or staircase, as these are easier to remember. Also take note of the floor on which you park.
-
Step 5
(Back into parking space.) Most people park their cars forward in parking lots. To help you later, back into your parking space. This way, you can find your car later by looking for cars that are parked backwards.
-
Step 6
(Leave extra space in parking spot.) This one is a little risky. Instead of pulling all the way into your parking spot, leave some space. That will give you something to look for if you forget where you park. You don't want to leave too much space, because your car may get rear ended. But leave a little.
-
Step 7
(Use the iPhone app G-Park.) If you have an iPhone, buy the G-Park application for $0.99. When you park your car, open the application and press "Park Me." Now, if you get lost, you can open the app again and hit "Where Did I Park" to have the application find your car for you!

on 8/21/2009 Excellent article! When you need to fly on vacation o for business for up to two weeks, you need to keep your car in a safe, secure place. I remember the car parking near Berlin airport, the Damm family car parking (http://www.mein-parken.de).
