Step 1
Make your own Cake
I was blown away when I was told the cost of a birthday cake with cupcakes was $27.00. If you choose to make your own make a small individual cake for the birthday boy/girl and make cupcakes for the guests. Total cost around $6.00. -
Step 2
Plan Ahead
You know that you are going to have to throw a birthday party, buy streamers, plates, decor when stores are having clearance sales. Holiday decor can be re-used for your birthday party. With all of the holidays you will have a choice of any color you need. -
Step 3
Don't serve lunch or dinner
Plan your party after lunch so that you don't have to provide lunch for 30 people. -
Step 4
Print Invitations
You can find free invitations online or print your own saving you the time and money of buying them and then hand writing out 20-30 invitations. -
Step 5
Use Plain Items
Every child wants to have a certain theme. Use colors to go with the theme, but don't spend the extra cost to buy everything with batman or princess. Just use pink streamers for the princesses and black for batman. Buy a large table cloth or wrapping paper in the theme of your child's choice. Wrapping paper can double as a table cloth and you will have extra to decorate in other places. -
Step 6
Local Parks
Take advantage of local parks. Set up games for the kids to play and let the kids play on the playground. Saving you time and money.
