Patio furniture gets plenty of use during the warm spring and summer months. They endure everything from rain to pool water, sunscreen, and the brutal rays of the sun. It's a wonder that they last as long as they do. But eventually some of your fabric patio furniture will begin to wear and you will need to do some minor repairs to restore them to their original state. Though it may sound intimidating if you have never repaired furniture before, there is really nothing to it. Here is how to repair holes in vinyl patio furniture.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Screw driver
  • Replacement parts
  • Spacers
  • Webbing
  1. Step 1

First try to find a repair kit that matches the fabric of your chair. These kits are available at local super centers and hardware stores. Don't worry if you can't find one that matches, because you can always paint the chair.

  2. Step 2

Remove the broken strap. This can be done by using a screwdriver to pry off or unscrew the screws holding the vinyl strap in place.

  3. Step 3

From the Repair kit, cut a piece of material that is the correct size of the piece that you are replacing.

  4. Step 4

If you used a piece of material that didn't match the rest of the chair fabric, now is the time to paint the chair. Make sure that you use fabric paint. Spray paint the chair in light coats. Two coats may be necessary.

  5. Step 5

Once the paint on the chair is dry, cover it with scotch guard or some other type of waterproofing solution.
