Make One Cup, Using Ground Coffee
Make One Cup, Using Ground Coffee

If you like using ground coffee, but find yourself wasting more than you drink, this product may be for you. It is quick, easy and there is only one implement to rinse off. It is easy to mix in different flavorings, and you can use it to make as many cups of coffee as you like. It is recommended to purchase more than one, to have them on hand for making more than one cup at a time.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A One-cup coffee cone holder
  • A pkg of one-cup coffee cone filters
  • Your favorite fresh ground coffee
  • Boiling water
  • A coffee cup
  • A spoon
  1. Step 1

Purchase a one cup coffee cone holder. It is a plastic cone-shaped item with a finger hole in it. You can find the one-cup coffee cone holders in the housewares departments that carry coffee product items. It is very reasonable, costing less than $5.00, depending on what kind you get. You can also buy them online, and I have provided a link at the end of this article. Check also at your local drug store, sometimes they carry them.

  2. Step 2

Boil your water, any way you normally would, in a saucepan or in the microwave. How much depends on how many cups you plan on drinking.

  3. Step 3

Place the small, one-cup coffee cone holder securely on top of your coffee cup. Place one paper cone filter inside, and put two-three teaspoons of fresh ground coffee in it. How much you use depends on how strong you like it for one cup.

  4. Step 4

Fill your filter cone with boiling water. Stir the grounds gently to get them off the side.

  5. Step 5

Wait for the water to drain through the filter, check how full your cup is, and if you need to, you can add more water into the cone. Add your milk, sugar or flavorings and you're done. Now, wasn't that easy? http://www.fantes.com/coffee-manualdrip.html

Tips & Warnings
  • You can purchase gold (yes, gold) coffee filters in cooking or gourmet specialty shops. These do not require a paper filter. I had one, and it lets the coffee oil go through, giving you a stronger cup of coffee. You can purchase the filters made for coffee makers, as you can make your money go further, and it works fine. Make sure your water is boiling before using it. You can keep your coffee warm by leaving the coffee filter holder on top until you get to it.
  • If you are going to add anything to your coffee it is best to add it directly to the coffee once it's finished. The filters tend to drain slower or not at all if you try to put it in with the boiling water. Be sure the cone holder will fit properly on top of your favorite coffee mug. It is designed to fit most of them, but you might want to be sure. You could probably hold it over your cup, also.
