Most of us have wonderful childhood memories of clowns. Clowns are a highlight of any parade. They are one of the most anticipated sights at the circus. Just the sight of a clown in his or her colorful costume will bring a smile to the face of a child or an adult. Sometime during the first week of August do something to celebrate the clowns who bring happiness to so many people in a variety of situations.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

In honor of those who dedicate themselves to being a clown as a profession and to those who dress in a clown costume to bring cheer to children in a hospital or the elderly in a nursing home take time this week to read "The Clown's Prayer". It can be found at numerous web sites, one of which is www.clown-ministry.com The words of that prayer should express the desires of many, not just the desires of a clown.

  2. Step 2

One day during National Clown Week wake up your children or your spouse wearing a brightly colorful wig and a big red nose. You might even want to find a small horn and beep it like a circus clown to wake them up.

  3. Step 3

Dress up like a clown and visit a nursing home to bring some happiness to the residents there. If you can get permission, deliver some balloons to children in a hospital dressed as a clown.
