My mother-in-law taught me how to make creamy scalloped potatoes, perfect as a side dish with any meat. These potatoes are perfect when grilling during the summer or with grandmas favorite pot roast and holiday dinners also.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 6 potatoes
  • approximately 1 quart heavy whipping cream
  • casserole dish (preferably glass)
  • oven
  1. Step 1

Fist you need to pre-heat the oven to 375.Then wash and peel your potatoes then slice them according to the potatoes size.

  2. Step 2

Lay the potatoes evenly covering the bottom of the casserole dish, with an inch to spare. Now pour the heavy whipping cream over them completely covering the potatoes, but don't fill the dish. (you only to cover the potatoes not drown them.)Salt and pepper. (if needed)

  3. Step 3

Place the dish in the oven when ready. The cooking time may very but you want the top of the potatoes to brown and bubble. The consistency of the cream depends on how creamy you want them, you can experiment with this. When the potatoes reached desired color and consistency they are done. this usually takes about 1 hour

Tips & Warnings
  • if you add to much cream the potatoes will be runny so just cover them in cream
  • higher altitudes will take longer to cook
