Body oil has a a variety of uses, from relaxation to soothing and smoothing skin. You either can find body oils at retail stores like Sephora or Bath and Body Works, or you can make your own custom scents with affordable ingredients. Body oil is used to smell fragrant, soften skin and create a relaxing massage treatment, but is also light enough to use as a daily routine after showering or taking a relaxing bath.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sweet almond oil
  • Essential oil
  • Body oil from retail store
  1. Step 1

Create your own body oil, or purchase a favorite from a retail store. To make a custom scent, mix 1/2 cup of sweet almond oil with 4 drops of any essential oil. Sweet almond oil has a slight nutty aroma, so any essential oil would create a fragrant blend.

  2. Step 2

Apply a few drops of the body oil along pulse points to get a fragrance all day. Pulse points are behind the ears, knees, wrists, elbows and neck area.

  3. Step 3

Add 5 drops of body oil to baths to create a relaxing experience as well as to soften skin while bathing. The oils lock in moisture to the skin, creating soft and smooth skin and keeping it moisturized long after a bath or shower.

  4. Step 4

Massage in body oil after a bath or shower to soften and moisturize skin. You can also massage oil into dry skin, giving it a nice sheen with a subtle scent.

  5. Step 5

Scent hair with body oil by dropping 1 or 2 drops of oil into the hands and running the hands lightly through the hair. The oil can help with dry ends and add a light fragrance to the hair.
