It won't work when the kids put something in the drain or toilet that wasn't supposed to go there but it works for "everyday" build up like hair or soap scum. - Access to water
- A kitchen mitt or towels
- A way to boil water

The idea is to use water to unclog a toilet or drain. Begin by filling a large kitchen pot with tap water.

Place the pot on a kitchen range and set the heat on medium high. Bring the water to a boil. You don't have to boil the water but the hotter the water the better chance you have to unclog a toilet or drain.

Repeat if necessary. Remember that using hot water like this is only intended to unclog everyday gunk like hair, soap scum, grease and paper in your toilet or drain. This is a very inexpensive way to unclog a toilet or drain and possibly save you water damage to your floor. So try this before you call a plumber to fix the problem.
