Frown lines are wrinkles that appear between the eyebrows and on the forehead, commonly associated with frowning. These wrinkles are the result of the repeated movements the face makes when frowning. Over time, virtually everyone will develop frown lines. Fortunately, there are various treatments available to improve them. How to Reduce Frown Lines

  1. Step 1

Relax your forehead and eyebrow area. You may be subconsciously holding furrowed expressions throughout the day. Repeatedly holding these expressions can deepen your frown lines. Make a conscious effort to relax your forehead and eyebrow area throughout the day.

  2. Step 2

Apply an anti-wrinkle cream to your frown lines. Choose a cream that contains collagen, helping to fill in your frown lines. You can find anti-wrinkle creams in most cosmetic and drug stores.

  3. Step 3

Wear sunscreen daily. The sun's rays damage the skin, speeding the wrinkling process. Apply a high-SPF sunscreen that protects against both UVA and UVB rays daily regardless of the weather. Over time, you'll notice a reduction in your frown lines if you protect your skin from the sun.

  4. Step 4

Get chemical peels. A dermatologist or skincare professional will apply chemicals to your frown lines which react with the top layers of your skin, effectively burning them away. Once your skin heals, your wrinkles will be less noticeable, and your skin will appear smoother and younger. Repeated peels may be necessary to reduce frown lines.

  5. Step 5

Try Botox. Botox is commonly used to reduce frown lines. It is injected directly into the frown line area, and paralyzes the muscles, preventing them from making frowning expressions. The skin in the area will appear smoother, and frown lines may be eliminated via Botox. The results are temporary, and you'll need to get injections every two to six months to maintain the results. Consult an experienced dermatologist if you are considering Botox injections.
