The Trojan PWS Legmir Gen K virus is a highly specialized malicious software program that is only interested in stealing passwords for online video games. While the original version of the virus only searched for passwords to the "Legend of Mir" online game, it has since been updated to scan for any computer game passwords. The virus can be removed by manually deleting the files that it uses and running a full virus scan.

  • The PWS Legmir Gen K virus periodically downloads extra files and updates when you are connected to the Internet. If you leave your Internet connection turned on while running the anti-virus scan the virus may be able to download its files again. When you restart your computer the download files will open up and your machine will be infected again.
