Morpheus is a program used for sharing files between users online. While the later versions of this program don't contain spyware, earlier versions were noted for installing dangerous programs on your computer without your consent. To remove this spyware, you'll need to download and install an antispyware program. Fortunately, there are a few such programs available online for free.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Antispyware program
  1. Step 1

Visit a website with antispyware software available. An example would be "Spybot"(see Resources).

  2. Step 2

Click on the download links. When the download window appears, click on "Save File" to begin downloading the installation file.

  3. Step 3

Locate the installation file on your computer and double-click on it. This should be either on your desktop or in your "My Downloads" folder. Go through the installation process, which includes choosing a directory for the program.

  4. Step 4

Activate your new program by double-clicking on its shortcut icon on your desktop. Update the software by clicking on "Search for Updates," choosing a server and then clicking on the "Download" button. Exit from the updates screen.

  5. Step 5

Click on the "Check for problems" button, which will begin a scan of your computer for Morpheus spyware and other threats. Once it finishes, there will be a list of problems in the search box. Find the one that says "Morpheus" and make sure there is a check in the box next to it. Click "Fix Selected Problems" to remove Morpheus spyware from your computer.
