Test the Ringer on a Phone

Testing the ringers on your phone is one of the best things about getting a new cell phone. With so many ringers to choose from it can be hard to pick one! This article will tell you specifically how to test ringers on an LG phone, but the information in the steps should work generally for just about any brand of cell phone.

Things You'll Need:

LG cell phone

Step 1

Turn on your phone by pressing the "Power/End" button on the cell phone keypad. Wait through the phone's opening welcome music and graphics.
Step 2

Select your phone's "Menu" option. In our example, the menu can be accessed by pressing the top left button on the keypad to correspond with the "Menu" option shown at the bottom left of your cell phone screen.
Step 3

Select "Settings" from your cell phone's main menu page. In our example, the "Settings" option is located in the bottom right corner of the cell phone's main menu page.
Step 4

Choose "Sounds" from the "Settings" menu page. Once you've chosen "Sounds", select "Ringers" from the "Sounds" menu page.
Step 5

Press the "Play" button to test individual ringers available on your cell phone.

Tips & Warnings

If you would like to test ringers that you've downloaded, but can't find them in your "Ringers" section, check in your "My Media" section under "Audio".
Accessing the Internet on your cell phone to download ringtones will result in an extra charge on your cellular bill if you do not have an existing data package on your cell phone.
