How to Cook the Best Pulled Pork

I actually learned this recipe from my son who is a firefighter. It is the best pulled pork I've ever had and is so easy that anyone can make it and seem like a gourmet cook. There are so many ways to serve it so leftovers are no problem. Its a great dish if you are having a large get together, just a family meal and definitely graet for watching football games.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pork roast
  • Cooking Pan
  • Onion
  • Moho Marinade
  • Aluminum Foil
  1. Step 1

Buy a pork shoulder (picnic in some areas). A pork tenderloin can be used if you prefer but since there is very little fat it is not quite as tasty.

  2. Step 2

Make several slits in the pork roast and fill each slit with a piece of garlic. Put roast in large plastic bag or in a pan. Add in 1 Bottle of Moho. This is a Cuban marinade and can be found in most major grocery chains. Add 1-2 sliced onions. Refridgerate and allow to marinate for 24 hours.

  3. Step 3

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Put roast along with all marinading ingredients in a roasting pan (I use the disposable foil pans). Make sure the meat is fat side up. Cover tightly with aluminum foil.

  4. Step 4

Let cook for 8-10 hours. You do not have to do anything to the roast during the cooking time. You can not overcook this roast. The longer you cook it the better it is. After cooking time is over, remove from oven and uncover. Let stand about 10 minutes or until the pork is cool enough to handle. Remove the large piece of fat and discard. If there is a bone in the roast it will slide right out. Remove the meat and with 2 forks start to separate the pork into small pieces.

  5. Step 5

When completely separated you are ready to serve. The versatility of the pork roast is unlimited. We like it served over rice with a squeeze of fresh lime. Also like it served on rolls with or without barbque sauce. Please try this recipe and let me know how you like it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Serve with Black Beans and Rice
  • This can be saved in the fridge for 3-4 days
  • When you take the pork out of the oven be careful to remove the cover away from you. Alot of steam builds up and it is very hot
