Remove SillyDl DBI & Tesllar A Virus

The SillyDl DBI virus and Tesllar A virus are two separate malicious programs that can infilitrate your computer when download and open an infected file. Both the SillyDl DBI virus, which is also called the Dropper.Win32 virus, and the Tesllar A virus, which is also called the Garntet virus, are known as "downloaders." They will both attempt to use your Internet connection to download other malicious programs from the Internet. You can remove the SillyDl DBI virus and teh Tesllar A virus by using an anti-virus tool after you have manually deleted several of their files.

Things You'll Need:

  • Virus removal utility

    SillyDl DBI Removal

  1. Step 1

    Navigate your web browser to the link in the Resources section of the AVG program. Download and install the AVG anti-virus utility if your computer doesn't already have another anti-virus program installed.

  2. Step 2

    Bring up the computer's Start menu and then select the "Restart" option. Wait for the computer's restart process to reach the point where the logo of the computer's manufacturer appears on the screen.

    Tap the "F8" key repeatedly until a new set of options pop-up on the screen. Press the down arrow key and highlight the option labeled as "Safe Mode." Press the Enter key and then let the computer finish restarting.

    Open the Start menu again and then click on the Search feature. Type "core.sys" into the search field and press Enter. Right-click the file that appears in the results and then choose the "Delete" entry.

    Search for and delete the files named "Dropper.FTV" and "SillyDl." Exit out of the search feature and then bring up your anti-virus software. Click on the program's "Update Now" feature.

    Select the "Scan" option and then click on the "Scan Entire Computer" button. Wait for the virus scan to finish running and then click on "Remove Problems" to finish removing the SillyDl DBI virus.

    Leave the computer in Safe Mode and do not restart yet. Access the Search feature again and type "b136.exe." Right-click the file and then choose "Delete."

    Search for and delete the files named "chdpad.exe," "sammy3.exe," "wen2.exe," and then "win5.exe." Type "Regedit" into the search field. Double-click on the registry editor's icon when it shows up in the search results window.

    Navigate through the folders in the registry editor until you find the folder named "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\Root." Find the entry at the right side of the screen that starts with "LEGACY_" and then has a string of random characters, such as "LEGACY_AB1223253_F01101_D67778."

  11. Step 4

    Right-click on the entry and then select "Delete." Close the registry editor's window and return to the anti-virus program.

  12. Step 5

    Click on the "Scan Entire Computer" option again. Choose "Remove Problems" to finish removing the Tesllar A virus. Restart the computer.

Tips & Warnings
  • Loading your computer's operating system in Safe Mode prevents the virus files from opening themselves and attempting to download any other infected files. Make sure that you update and run your virus scanning program at least once a week to keep your computer free of any other infections.
  • The registry editor program is used to store files that are required for your computer to load itself up and run properly. Be careful not to remove any other registry entries as you could end up ruining your operating system.
