How to Make Baby Leggings from Women's Socks

Baby leggings are a popular clothing accessory for babies and young children. They are a fashionable, colorful, and whimsical way to protect delicate baby legs from sun, cold, insects, and injuries associated with crawling and toddling. Instead of purchasing expensive baby leggings from a boutique shop, purchase a wild pair of women's socks and transform them into stylish baby leggings in just a short time.

Instructions

    • 1

Lay out both socks so that they are flat and straight, and the foot portions of the socks extend out from the leg portions of the socks at approximately 45-degree angles.

    • 2

Cut the foot portions off the leg portions immediately above the ankles. The cutting line should be parallel to the top edge of the leg portions of the socks.

    • 3

Turn the leg portions inside out and roll up the cut-off bottom edges approximately one inch. Pin to secure.

    • 4

Sew with the machine around the turned-up portion approximately 3/4 of an inch away from the folded edge (i.e., approximately 1/4 inch below the top of the fold).

    • 5

Turn the leg portions right side out to finish the baby leggings.
