You just laid out your outfit and accessories to wear for the evening. You’ve just applied your make-up and styled your hair in a fabulous hairstyle. Then you see it, a few gray strands of hair. You’ve never noticed them before, but you don’t have time to color your hair. So what do you do now? This article will teach you how to quickly touch-up those gray strands of hair.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mascara
  1. Step 1

Mascara comes in different colors like: blonde, black, brown, and other colors. If you do not have a mascara color that closely matches your hair, you can go to the store and purchase the mascara if you have time. If you do not have time to go to the store you can use the color that you already have in your cosmetic bag. It may not match your hair color, but it may not be too noticeable since you only have to cover a few strands. The color will look like a hint of highlight.

  2. Step 2

Comb your hair in the hairstyle you’re going to wear it in for the evening. You only need to touch-up the gray strands of hair that will be visible.

  3. Step 3

Remove the mascara brush from the bottle. Rub the brush against the side of the bottle on the way out in order to remove any excess liquid. Turn the brush parallel to the gray strands and brush on the gray hair. Repeat this step if you want to make the color darker. Or you can dab some mascara on a cosmetic wedge, hold the gray strand away from the rest of your hair, hold the wedge between your thumb and pointer finger, close the wedge on the gray strand and pull starting from the scalp to the end of your hair. Repeat if necessary. To touch-up gray along the edges of your hair, just dab a little mascara on the gray spots.

Tips & Warnings
  • Avoid getting your hair wet, because the mascara will run.
  • Shampoo your hair to remove the mascara.
