How to Plan a Garden View

One of the most important aspects of designing a successful garden is to make sure the views -- from all directions -- have the best impact possible. Here are some tips on how to plan a garden view.

1. 
   Check out the indoor garden view.

   Much of your garden will be viewed from indoors, so try to think of your windows as being frames for living paintings -- paintings of your landscape outdoors. Look through each window and consider how you can build, paint, decorate or grow something that will make that window view exciting.

   Garden view from a pool

   Decide where you will have seating placed outdoors. If you have a back patio or will be designing a swimming pool or an outdoor room, it's important you site your structures and seating where the views are most impressive.

   Use natural garden views.

   If your property came with a naturally impressive view, plan your garden to take advantage of it. Equally, you can block undesirable parts of your view with walls, shrubs or other screens.

   Have fun with a mural to create a garden view.

   If your property doesn’t have any existing attractive views then create one for yourself. Plan your garden view with colorful gardens, paint murals, set up artistic sculptures, structure arches, patios, water features – take the time to develop a beautiful landscape that you can enjoy looking at from both indoors and outdoors.

   Create you garden view from all angles.

   You can plan a garden view from indoors or any angle outdoors. Use whatever assets your landscape already has, but don’t be afraid to create your own garden views either.
