Make a Seasonal Pie
Make a Seasonal Pie

Celebrate the seasons with this easy to make seasonal pie! Not only is this pie tasty, but it is enough to living up any season with its colorful display!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 (4 serving size) boxes of different flavored jello
  • 1 1/2 cup boiling water divided
  • 1 cup ice divided
  • Graham cracker pie crust
  • Thawed cool whip
  1. Step 1

First determine what holiday you'd like to celebrate and what colors/flavors of jello would go best with this season. For example, red (cherry) and blue (blueberry) would be great for the 4th of July while orange and purple (grape) would go great for Halloween.

  2. Step 2

After you've decided your different jello flavors it is time to mix the first packet of jello. Empty the packet into a bowl and stir in 3/4 cup of the boiling water until the jello is dissolved. Add 1/2 cup of the ice cubes next and stir until the ice is melted.

  3. Step 3

Now you will want to pour the jello onto the graham cracker pie crust. This will be your bottom layer. Set in the refrigerator until it is entirely set.

  4. Step 4

After the first layer has set up you will want to now mix your other flavor of jello. Repeat step 2. After repeating step 2 you will want to set the jello to the side until it is room temperature. This is very important because you will not want to melt the other flavor of jello and mix the colors.

  5. Step 5

Once it has reached room temperature pour the jello on top of the other layer of jello and set in the refrigerator until set.

  6. Step 6

Now that the jello has set you will want to place your last layer on top. Take the thawed cool whip and spread evenly over the top. If you want to be creative you can even add food coloring to the cool whip to go with your holiday of choice, but this is not necessary.

  7. Step 7

Serve to your guests and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • Some people choose to create a different visualization for their seasonal pie and will choose to put the cool whip in the middle instead of on top. Be cautious though because this can be tricky... Some people find that the cool whip will melt from the last layer of jello and float to the top. It's up to you.
