Do you want to go to college but you just do not think it is possible as a single mother? I know the way to get back to school. You will feel better about you and making a better future for you and your child.

Things You'll Need:

  • Strong will to succeed
  1. Step 1

Be determined. Do not let anything stand in your way, it may be hard at times but just know that you can do it. Believe in yourself and know that you are only going to make your life and your child's life easier in the long run.

  2. Step 2

You may think, I don't have time to sit in a classroom. Well guess what, you don't have to. You can take classes right online. I recommend the University of Phoenix. Everything is done right on the computer so you don't have to have step foot in the classroom.

  3. Step 3

After you have found the college you want to go to visit fafsa.ed.gov. This is a FREE website where you apply for financial aid. Your school will even be able to help you if you have trouble. You will automatically qualify for loans and if you do not make that much income then you can also qualify for pell. Pell is money the government gives you toward education that you do not have to pay back. You do not have to start repaying loans until you are finished school.

  4. Step 4

Set up with your school when you plan to start and they will help. You can major in anything you chose the same as you could if you went to a college. Classes don't take your life away. For example, at the University of Phoenix you can take 1,2 or 3 classes at a time and each class only gives about 2 or 3 assignments a week. It is so simple and worth it in the long run!

Tips & Warnings
  • It may seem overwhelming at times when you add something new to your plate. That is why it is so important to remind yourself why you are doing it.
  • The longer you wait, the longer it will be before you have a degree.
