Step 1
For this tutorial i used two Hq pictures of Rihanna, which can be found at ultimate-rihanna.com/gallery. These are the best pictures you will find for this celebrity. I blended her photos together by opening the two photos, then you want to open a new file that is much bigger than the two combined (you can crop later) 3000px Times 3000px by going to file>new (Like i said, you can resize it).
-
Step 2
so you drag the two pictures into the new (extra big) file and you place them next to each other. once you do that, place one over the other slightly (refer to finished result) and you use the erase tool (or the layer mask) and use a soft brush and erase the extra grey in between her, make it look like she's next to herself. Once the pictures are properly merged, you can flatten layer. by going to layer>flatten image. for the extra smooth look she has, i used TOPAZ VIVACITY.

Step 3
(google it.) its a pretty good (Plugin) then I desaturated the picture by going to image > adjustments and either simply selecting desaturate, or going to channel mixer and checking the small monochrome box at the bottom of that popup window. Either way, the picture shouldn't have color. Now what you are going to do is visit officialpsds.com and type "city" in the search box. Mines was the Atlanta skyline, but you can use whatever you please. Download the psd, unzip it, and open it along with your Rihanna creation. Once you have the files open together.
-
Step 4
either drag the city psd onto the photo, or hit ctrl+a to select all and hit ctrl+c to copy, and going to the Rihanna photo and hitting ctrl+v. Now this is where it gets beautiful. Make sure the city psd layer is selected, and go to edit> free transform . so this way you can form the psd to fit the initial picture.
-
Step 5
Now this should be on the lower right of your screen, if not go to window> layers so thats visible. Make sure the city psd is still selected and play with the blending modes. Look for the drop down bar. Looks like this. play around with the different blending options until you get the desired effect. I used Lighten.
