How to Make Easy Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

This is a delicious recipe for oatmeal cookies. it is a variation of the traditional oatmeal cookie and they are just as yummy. The kids can help make these cookies. You can also wrap them in aluminum foil. Wrap and fold edges then set on a flat surface like a cookie sheet. thaw before unwrapping. They can freeze up to two months.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3/4 lb. semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup soft unsalted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 3/4 cup quick or old fashioned oats, uncooked
  • 1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
  1. Step 1

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Melt one cup of chocolate chips in a sauce pan over low heat. Place aside.

  2. Step 2

    Beat butter and sugar in bowl until fluffy. Stir in vanilla, egg, and melted chips

  3. Step 3

    Combine remaining ingredients in another bowl. Add the remaining chips and melted chocolate.

  4. Step 4

    Place by rounded teaspoons on un-greased cookie sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until done. Cool one minute before transferring to wire rack.

  5. Step 5

    Cool cookies quickly before freezing to keep freshness. All dairy and egg food should be cooled in refrigerator. Place single portions in air-tight container.
