How to Write a Thank-You Card for a Baby Shower

You got all the onesies, blankets, diapers, burp cloths, baby clothes and other essential baby items you can image at your baby shower. Now it's time to get cracking on those thank you notes before that new little bundle of joy leaves you with little time to sleep and shower let alone write notes to loved ones.

Thanking everyone one the gift list from the baby shower can be a overwhelming task, but with these tips you'll be done in no time. Here are some simple instructions to write thank-you notes for a baby shower.

Things You'll Need

• Stationary and/or Thank You Cards
• Gift list
• Addresses of Gift Givers
• Pens or Fine Tip Markers
• Stamps
• Glue Stick and/or stickers

Instructions

1. Gather together all your Thank You Note writing supplies.

2. You should try to give each card a personal touch but don't feel like you need to write a lengthy note in each and every card.

   Each note should consist of the following:

   Dear (First Name),

   Opening line (see examples in step 3)

   Specify the gift and indicate how you'll use it. FOR EXAMPLE you could say "The stuffed giraffe and burp cloths are great! I'm sure (baby name) will love playing with his/her new fluffy friend and the burp pads will be put to good use I'm sure."

   Share a personal anecdote if you'd like. For example you could say to your cousin who has young children "I'm sure (baby name) will love playing with his big cousins like I did when we were growing up. Remember that time..."

3. Sometimes you just don't know what to say so here are some good opening lines:

   1. Thank you for helping us celebrate the birth of the newest family member.

   2. Thank you so much for attending my baby shower, it was wonderful to see you.

   3. Thank you for helping us get ready to welcome baby (insert name) into the world

   4. Thank you for attending my baby shower, your generosity is overwhelming.

4. Closing Line Examples:

   1. Again, thank you so much for your generosity. We truly appreciate it.

   2. The baby shower was that much more special because you were there, thanks for everything.

   3. Thank you again for blessing us with your presence and your very generous gift for our little bundle of joy.

   4. Thank you for all your love and support for the newest addition to our family.

5. Addressing the Baby Shower Thank You Card Envelopes

   Be sure to put your return address in the upper left corner on the front of the card.

   Put the recipient's mailing information in the center of the envelope including:
   Full Name
   Complete Address
   City, State, Zip Code

6. Insert your note into the envelope and seal with a swipe of a glue stick or a decorative sticker. You really do not want to be licking all those envelopes.

7. Don't forget the stamp.
