Step 1
RosesDetermine how many stems or bunches of each type of flower you will need. Sometimes, the flowers have to be ordered in units of 10, such as 30 or 40 but not 32, so keep that in mind when making your list. Some sites have a minimum of 50 of each type to qualify for wholesale flowers pricing.
-
Step 2
Browse several wholesale flower sites to find one that has all the types of flowers you need. If your order has great variety, you may need to order from a couple sources to get everything you need.
Check out the Wholesale Flowers & Supplies, The Flower Exchange and Fifty Flowers websites. -
Step 3
Plan to place your order about 10 days to two weeks before you need the flowers to arrive. Some companies need this much lead time to process your order, as in most cases the flowers are drop shipped directly form the farms where they are grown and cut.
-
Step 4
Go over your wholesale flowers order carefully when placing it online or over the phone. Be sure all numbers are correct and review shipping method and charges before completing the transaction.
-
Step 5
Wholesale flowers deliveryBe there to accept the delivery when your flowers arrive. In hot weather, the flowers will need to be transferred to a refrigerator or cool room to prevent wilting. In freezing weather, the flowers can be damaged by extreme cold. Either way, the fresh flowers guarantee is void if the package is not received in person from the carrier.

on 8/26/2009 Don't forget to think of others! You can buy beautiful Fair Trade Certified flowers for your wedding at http://www.OneWorldFlowers.org.
Fair Trade certification means that workers on the floral farms are paid a living wage, ensured human rights protection, and given healthcare and maternity leave. It makes a BIG difference in the lives of women worldwide, and the prices are the same or lower than many other places.

on 7/25/2009 Great advice. Flowers can be such a huge expense otherwise, I got my wedding flowers wholesale from Costco and they were beautiful! I think I spend a total of $300 on flowers for the entire wedding...my bouquet, 5 bridesmaid bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres and decorative flowers.
