1
Identify those areas of the car that need sound dampening. If you just want to enhance the performance of the speakers, it might be sufficient to just line the interior of the trunk, but for the most enhancement, the car doors as well as other interior surfaces should be lined. Once you determine which surfaces will need to be lined, you need to acquire enough Dynamat to cover everything.

2
Remove panels and other hardware. The Dynamat works as a barrier between the sound and the interior of the car, and it must be installed close to outside. Following the recommended procedure for the vehicle being worked on, remove the paneling on the interior side of the doors, trunk and other areas where the Dynamat will be installed. Keep track of all screws and fasteners. Remove the speakers so the Dynamat can be installed behind them.

3
Clean the surfaces to receive the Dynamat. It is best to use a cleaner that will not leave behind a residue, but the goal is to remove all dirt, grime, grease, wax and anything else that would interfere with the adhesion of the Dynamat to internal surfaces.

4
Trim the Dynamat. Lining up the Dynamat with the now clean paneling, use a knife or scissors to trim the pieces so that they will fit within the paneling. If there are gaps in the coverage, the trimmed pieces can be used to complete the coverage.

5
Install the Dynamat. Making sure to avoid any mechanisms or internal features that are part of the doors' operation, remove the backing and apply the Dynamat to the internal surface. Make sure to press everywhere, getting adhesion along every part of the Dynamat.

6
Reinstall all panels and hardware. Now that the Dynamat is installed, it is just a matter of putting back the speakers and everything else removed during the process.

Tips & Warnings
Work on only one section or door at a time. This will make sure that the amount of screws and hardware being kept track of is at a minimum, preventing loss and headache.
Be sure that the Dynamat will not interfere with door locks, trunk latches or any other mechanical or electrical actions of the car. Be careful to not cut any wires or electrical connections when trimming the Dynamat.
