A Warrior in Runes of Magic

There are six character classes in the new free MMORPG game Runes of Magic. There are three ranged/casting classes and three melee/close combat classes. Choosing the right primary class is important, especially with the game allowing for secondary class selection later on. This unique way of dual class merging characters can give you the best of two types of fighting, or you can choose to just have one pure class. These are the three melee and close combat character types in the game, and this is your Runes of Magic guide to those character classes.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Warriors – These brute force melee fighters take matters into their own hands. They wield axes and swords (typically, as they get bonuses for these two weapons, but can wield hammers and clubs as well). They work off rage to do their special battle skills. When the battle first begins the warrior will have no rage, but will begin to slowly fill their rage bar as the fight continues. If you are going to be wielding a sword while attacking you will want to put many talent points (TPs) in your Slash skill, as this skill will cause bleed damage. There are also sneak attacks you may use as well.

  2. Step 2

Knights – These paladin-like characters are a sword and shield combo crew that is the class that is able to wear plate armor. They have mana stealing powers, mana absorption, and some shield skills. They can especially utilize the skills of Holy Shield and Enhanced Armor for some brutal defense methods in a battle.

  3. Step 3

Rogues – Say what you will about these thieves and ragamuffins, they are quick and do a good bit of DPS (damage per second). They are not mana using, preferring to use “energy” to deal their damage attacks, especially with their daggers (their preferred weapon of choice). They have skills like Villainy and Laceration to really cripple anyone that comes in their bath. Dagger mastery and offhand Master can really add to the damage that this character class can deal upon its foes.
