How to Make an Ash Tray From a Soda Can
Glass ash trays purchased from the store can be dropped and broken too easily, so purchasing them isn't always worth it. Creating your own, shatter-proof aluminum ash tray out of a soda can is extremely simple and virtually free. The best part is that it can be made and ready to use within a matter of minutes.

1
Rinse your soda can completely. Allow it to dry.
-
2
Use a jagged-edge knife or scissors to cut off the top of the soda can.
-
-
3
Make a vertical slice in the soda can all the way to the bottom. About an inch from the first slice, make another. Continue until the entire can has been sliced.
-
4
Bend the sliced pieces of the can toward the ground very slowly. Once all have been bent, it should look something like a sunflower when looked at from above.
-
5
Take one of the bent edges and bend it in half and to the right. Tuck it under the strip to the right of it. It should somewhat overlap the sliced piece of can next to it. Continue doing this to all slices.
-
6
Add a small amount of sand to the center of the can and place on a table to use.
