Instructions

    • 1

Measure the inside front, back and arms of the sofa as well as the outside back and sides. Add 3 inches to the measurements then lay the fabric out on a flat surface. Cut out the piece of fabric with electric sewing scissors. Electric sewing scissors will not only cut the fabric swiftly but help to keep it from fraying depending on what type of fabric you are using.

    • 2

Turn the fabric under twice making a 1 inch fold all along the cut edge and place a sewing pin along the fold line about every inch or so. Next stitch all along the folded edge of the fabric with the sewing machine.

    • 3

Place the slipcover on the sofa and find the center of the sofa and the center of the fabric and position it into place. Drape the remaining fabric over the sides of the sofa checking to see that it falls evenly to the floor on all sides. Now tuck the slipcover into the inside back and sides of the sofa until you are satisfied with the overall look.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can use upholstery pins to place inside the tucked fabric. This will help keep the slipcover tucked into place even when people sit on the sofa.
