They also are simple to install and come with an easy-to-understand manual. However, when your opener is not working the way it should, follow these steps to troubleshoot it.

1. Locate the remote control inside the car if the remote has less than a 25-foot operating range. Make sure the remote is pointing towards the door when pressing the Control button. If it still does not work, replace the remote control battery. You can also reposition the opener antenna wire.

2. Program the code for each remote control into the receiver memory if the opener works from the wall but not from the remote controls. If this does not solve your problem, replace the remote control batteries. You also can check for beam obstructions or any misalignment of the lenses.

3. Ensure that all the fasteners are tight if your garage door is noisy while operating. If this is not the problem, check to see that the garage door and the opener are in good condition, well lubricated and properly balanced.

4. Check the position of the wall console vacation lock switch if the door closes and the opener shuts down. The lock switch must be in an unlocked position for the opener to open the door.

5. Check all the wires to make sure they were not cut if the door opener starts for no apparent reason. Replace any shorted wires. Also check to see if the remote control was lost or stolen. If a remote is missing, erase all remote control codes from the receiver's memory and reprogram for the remaining remote controls. Finally, see that no buttons are pushed in on the remote controls or the wall control.
