How to Wear a Western Shoulder Holster
A shoulder holster was common in the old West, and many people still wear them today. A shoulder holster is simple to wear: The key is making sure it fits comfortably on your body, and that your clothing can fit loosely over it. The point of a shoulder holster is to conceal a weapon while still letting the wearer move normally. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Choose a Western shoulder holster. They come in many colors, designs and style. The important thing to keep in mind is that comfort and normal movement is key. It might be best to opt for a lighter weight holster if you are a woman or have a smaller frame.
-
2
Shrug your arms through each loop in the holster, and adjust it across your back. You want it tight enough that it doesn't slide, but not so tight that it constricts your movement. You should be able to comfortably cross your arms on your chest.

3
Adjust the holster under your arms. Again, it should be snug but not so tight it is at all uncomfortable.
-
4
Situate the gun clips into the belt clip (some Western shoulder holsters do not have these). You should be able to lift your arms without the belt clip pulling on any part of your body.
-
5
Dress as usual after fitting the shoulder holster to your body. Ideal pieces of clothing are loose-fitting vests, jackets and sport coats. Once dressed, make sure the holster is concealed and you can move normally.
