Plastic pants provide protection for those who have bladder problems or are incontinent. They are designed to be comfortable to wear, and it is usually impossible for another person to tell whether someone is wearing the pants. Plastic pants can help an adult go about his or her day free from worry about potentially embarrassing situations.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Diapers
  • Mild laundry detergent
  1. Step 1

Put on a diaper to be worn underneath the plastic pants.

  2. Step 2

Pull the plastic pants over the adult diaper. If you are using a version with snaps, fasten them closed.

  3. Step 3

Take off the plastic pants to change the diaper. If the pants are still clean, use them again. One pair of pants should be good for a full day of use as long as it isn't obviously soiled.

  4. Step 4

To clean the pants, place them in a pot of boiling water with a mild laundry detergent added to it. This will clean the pants and remove stains.

  5. Step 5

Hang the plastic pants up to air-dry. Do not put them in a dryer, because the heat will melt the plastic.

  6. Step 6

Do not use products containing petroleum (such as Vaseline and rash ointments) on any area of the body that will come in contact with the pants. Check the label to find a product that does not contain petroleum. If product with petroleum is the only option, use it sparingly.

Tips & Warnings
  • Buy seven pairs of plastic pants, one for each day of the week.
  • Never wash plastic pants with chlorine bleach or any fabric softeners.
