How to Remove Dandelion Stains

Dandelion plants are yellow flowers that grow in many lawns and fields. The plants can easily stain clothing. A dandelion stain can be difficult to remove without the proper tools.

Things You'll Need

• Lemon juice
• Washing machine
• Bleach
• Water
• Small bowl
• 2 wash cloths

Instructions

1. Apply lemon juice to the dandelion stain.

2. Rub the lemon juice into the stain using a wash cloth.

3. Set the article of clothing outside in sunlight for a few hours.

4. Wash your dandelion-stained clothing in the washing machine following the clothing's care instructions, but do not dry until the stain is completely removed.

5. If the lemon juice does not remove the dandelion stain, mix one part bleach to three parts water in a small bowl.

6. Dip the end of a wash cloth into the bleach mixture and test on an inconspicuous part of your article of clothing. If the bleach mixture is too strong, add more water and test again.

7. Pat the dandelion stain with your wash cloth till the stain is removed.

8. Wash and dry the article of clothing according to the clothing's care instructions.

Tips & Warnings

• Try to treat the dandelion stain as soon as you notice it. The quicker you get to the stain, the easier it will be to remove.

• Do not mix bleach with other cleaning products.
