How to Make Homemade Bath Beads

There's nothing like a hot, relaxing bath after a hard day. Bath beads soften the water with essential oils, adding a wonderful fragrance. Unfortunately, they can be expensive. You can make your own bath beads by following this recipe.

Things You'll Need

• Powdered milk
• Powdered sugar
• Borax powder
• Rose water
• Essential oil
• Rubber gloves
• Bowl
• Wooden spoon
• Wax paper

Instructions

1. Combine 1/2 cup powdered milk, 2 tbsp. powdered sugar and 2 tbsp. borax powder in the bowl.

2. Stir with the wooden spoon until it's evenly mixed.

3. Add 3/4 cup rose water.

4. Add 10 drops of the essential oil of your choice and mix until it's evenly distributed.

5. Roll the mixture into small balls by hand. The balls should be approximately the size of a single teaspoon.

6. Place the balls on the wax paper.

7. Allow the balls to dry for 24 hours.

Tips & Warnings

• Add food coloring to the mixture for brightly colored bath beads.

• Pure essential oils can irritate sensitive skin. Always wear gloves when working with essential oils.
