Things You'll Need:
- Crock pot
- Beef Stew cubes
- Carrots
- Celery
- Potatoes
- 2 cans stewed tomatoes
- 1 bulb garlic
- powdered garlic
- hot sauce
- sea salt and pepper
- celery seed
- parsley
- red pepper flakes
- beef broth (2 cans)
- Olive Oil
- Onions
-
Step 1
I use a 6 quart crock pot when I make this recipe. Start with a clean pot and wash all your vegetables before you peel them. You will need a frying pan with a lid to pre-cook your beef cubes. Cover the bottom of your frying pan with olive oil and chop your garlic and put it in the pan along with 2 chopped sweet onions. Cook onions and garlic until they turn golden and then add your beef cubes. It depends on the size of your family as to how much meat you want to use. Fry your beef cubes until your cubes are no longer pink. Place the onions and garlic along with the beef cubes in the crock pot. Add two cans of beef broth and two cans of stewed tomatoes.
-
Step 2
The next step is to peel enough carrots for the size of your family. If you like a lot of carrots then use more if not just a few will do. My family loves carrots so I use a lot of them. Cut up at least 4 stalks of celery and add to your mixture. Dice 5 potatoes and add to your stew. For extra garlic taste sprinkle garlic powder. I love garlic so I always add extra powder to my recipes. Season with sea-salt, pepper, a dash of hot sauce and last but not least sprinkle a few red pepper flakes over your stew.
-
Step 3
Set your timer so that your crock pot recipe will be ready by dinner. Just before you serve this stew make up a batch of biscuits to serve. This is a very filling recipe and will satisfy a big family. It freezes well and makes a great left-over meal. This is a hearty dish that will serve your family and guests if anybody stops by.
