How to Record a CD Louder Using Nero

Nero is a software suite that allows burning CD or DVD in audio/video formats or plain data disks. It also supports CD/DVD copying and writing image files. Nero has various tools to tune disk recording and permits editing and tweaking audio files prior to burning.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Nero 8 or 9
  1. Step 1

    Launch Nero and select the "Rip and Burn" tab.

  2. Step 2

    Click on "Burn Audio CD" to open the Nero Express Essential window.

  3. Step 3

    Click on "Add" (green "+" sign) button, browse your computer and double-click on an audio file you want to add for burning on a CD. The file will appear in the list of songs in the window.

  4. Step 4

    Repeat Step 3 for all other files that should be added to the burning list.

  5. Step 5

    Holding "Shift," click on each song name one by one to select all songs in the burning list.

  6. Step 6

    Click the "Properties" button to open the "Audio Track Properties" window.

  7. Step 7

    Select "Filters" tab in the properties window and check "Equalizer" box.

  8. Step 8

    Select "Loudness" from the drop-down list under "Equalizer Profiles" and enter a desired loudness gain (in decibels; dB) in the box. Click "OK."

  9. Step 9

    Click "Next" and then "Burn" to start audio CD burning.
