How to Use a Karambit

The karambit is a bladed weapon with several advantages over a standard knife. The curved blade presents several unusual cutting angles, and the loop at the base of the grip allows extra control of your blade when in use. Like all blades, however, the karambit is a dangerous weapon and should be treated with care.

  • Place the karambit in the palm of your hand, with the blade curving down and forward, away from your body and below your palm.

  • Wrap your fingers around the hilt of the blade, with your index finger passing through the loop of the grip and your thumb pressing down atop it.

  • Stab with the knife in a forward thrusting motion.

  • Pull up and away from your target after stabbing to use the tearing ability of the curved blade.

  • Swing your arm in a tight arc, horizontal to the ground, to perform a quick slash against exposed areas.

Tips & Warnings

  • The karambit is a very dangerous weapon and should only be used as a last-resort self-defense method.
