Most people have to go on business trips, here are some trips that I have used to make the most out of a business trip.

1. For starters, do a little background research. Once you know the destination, search online or go to the library and get some books on the place. Under most circumstances, if you look you will find things to do. It does not have to be a dull trip of going to meetings and back to your hotel. When you research online, you may even find some coupons on local attractions which will save you money. Make notes and printouts of what you would like to take with you and stick it all in a folder. There is no need to carry a bunch of books and papers with you. Just take what you need.If you read over it before you go on the trip you will not need it again.If you have the ability to pick your arrival and destination dates, schedule a tour for the area. This is a simple way to see the sites and have a guide tell you about everything. Some even include meals and accommodations.

2. Before going, make a plan of what you would like to do and will have time for. Save time by using public transportation instead of walking everywhere. This may be handy as well if you have many things to carry and depending on temperatures and other weather conditions. Find the closest bus stop to your hotel and get a bus schedule. If you get a bus, many times they will take you to other common attractions and destinations as well. Bus passes can usually be purchased and are very convenient if using the bus for multiple trips. Public transportation also decreases the stress of finding a place to park and parking lot fees.

   No body really plans out their meals and where they want to eat, but if you look up different places to eat, you will know where you would like to go. This will save you time from driving or walking around looking for a place to eat. If you have a chance to look at the menu beforehand, you will have an idea of what you would like to eat, thus meaning less wait time once you arrive at your table. If you do have a car, print out directions before leaving home. Leave them in the car (then you won't lose them anywhere), and you will always have them handy. Especially in bigger cities directions are a must because of one way streets and traffic. You don't want to be searching for how to get to a place in an unknown area and in lots of traffic. If you have a GPS, pre-program places into its memory.
