How to Write Directions for a Wedding
Inviting wedding guests who come from far and wide is not uncommon. On your wedding day, not only will you be able to see family members who have moved away, you will also be able to reconnect with friends from past years of your life. However, this treat can turn into a frustrating mess if no one knows how to easily reach the wedding venue. If you cannot provide all of your out-of-town guests with transportation to the ceremony site, give them clear directions to make their arrival easier.

1
Discover where all of your guests are staying the night before your wedding so that you can create accurate directions for each location.
-
2
Describe the best route take to your wedding venue from each location. You may find it helpful to work backwards from the venue to the guest's hotel and then reverse the directions. Alternatively, you may use an online navigation tool, though it is still best to take the route yourself to ensure that the directions it provides are correct.

Include as many landmark details from the route as possible. Mention the location of schools, cinemas and distinctive homes, for example, that the drivers pass on their way. The more details you include, the better, as this will help your guests feel that they are on the right route.

Tips & Warnings
Provide the number of a designated navigator who is not a member of the wedding party at the bottom of your directions. He should be someone who knows the town very well so that he can direct guests to the venue if they find themselves lost.
