Make life with credit cards easy. Follow these simple tips and get all the convenience of credit cards without the debt that many people find themselves in.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

The first step towards making credit cards easy is to only use them as a convenience. Never use them as an advance on your next paycheck or a long term loan on a purchase.

Always make sure that you can pay off the complete balance of the credit card at the end of the month. If you're not sure if you can do it, don't make the purchase.

  2. Step 2

Next, get rid of excess credit cards. To keep credit cards easy, only have two credit cards. Use one as your primary card for all of your purchases. Keep the other one handy should you ever lose your primary card or be somewhere where they don't accept that credit card.

Having more than two cards can be risky as it makes it more difficult to make sure that you are paying all of them off. Additionally, it can tempt some people into spending more as it allows them a greater line of credit.

  3. Step 3

Only use credit cards with no annual fee. Usually the annual fees are not worth whatever rewards they are taunting.

  4. Step 4

Finally, another easy credit card tip is to set up automatic payments online to pay off the full balance of your credit cards each month. Obviously, if you are spending more than you can afford there will not be money in your account to cover it.

However for those who use credit cards correctly, automatic payments make for one less thing to worry about.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are concerned that you will not be able to control your spending, stop using credit cards.
  • Additionally, you can ask your credit card company to reduce your spending limit to also help control your spending.
  • NEVER pay for something on a credit card that you wouldn't/couldn't pay for in cash.
