Herbal cold remedies aren't that hard to make. Some of the ingredients you already have in your kitchen can be used to help kick your cold. Some ingredients you will be able to find in your own backyard. Sill other ingredients will need to be purchased from an herbalist.

Here are a few herbal cold remedies. Try a couple and see if they help you get rid of your cold more quickly.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Combine 1/4 pound raisins, 3 ounces of fresh ginger root, 3 cups of honey, and 1 gallon of distilled water in a pot. Bring to boil and then let simmer for 1 hour. Once cooked let mixture cool, strain into a container and refrigerate overnight. The next day, squeeze 6 lemons and 4 oranges into the mixture and stir well. Drink 2 to 3 glasses a day.

  2. Step 2

    Combine 2 inches of grated ginger root, 3 lemon slices and 1 gallon of distilled water in a large pot. Bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes. This delicious ginger tea is one of the many great herbal cold remedies from Asia. Drink it 3 times daily.

  3. Step 3

    Combine 1 part elder, 1 part peppermint, and 1 part yarrow. Measure out 1 tablespoon of the mixture and put it in a cup of hot water. Let seep for 20 minutes and drink slowly before bed.

  4. Step 4

    Combine 1 cup black elder berry flowers, 1 cup Irish moss, 1 cup juniper berries, 1 cup peppermint, 1 cup plantain, and 1 cup rosemary. Put 1 teaspoon of mixture in a cup of boiling water. Let steep for 15 minutes. Strain and drink twice daily. You can sweetened with honey if you want.
